about
Djerv are finally back releasing their first new music in almost a decade! After some tough years for the front figure Agnete, Djerv are stronger than ever reclaiming their Throne as one of the best heavy bands out of Norway. “Throne” is dangerously catchy and aggressive rock, with lyrics touching upon an important subject for the band: “Throne is about fighting yourselves, your mind, and reclaiming control of your life.”
lyrics
Djerv – Thorne Lyrics
Oh my. I did survive.
High five. Been a ghost, but I`m alive.
Down low I`ve been burned.
Too slow. Tables are turned.
I ́m coming to take your throne. Bring it back to where it belongs.
You stole it while I was gone, but tonight I am coming home.
I`m coming to take your throne
You ́re such a perfect metaphor. When you lie, I`m a lie.
You ́re killing us both. Fire, fire, fire.
I`m done. It ́s time to move on. Come on.
We are forever young.
I ́m coming to take your throne. Bring it back to where it belongs.
You stole it while I was gone, but tonight I am coming home.
I`m coming to take your throne
As I fought my way back in, my powers grew more than a king.
Fate is sealed. No way back. Forward now. Full on attack.
Slayed and murdered on my way, so everyone could hear me say;
The throne is mine. I’m here to sing. Drop to your knees, and kiss the ring.
I ́m coming to take your throne. Bring it back to where it belongs.
You stole it while I was gone, but tonight I am coming home.
I`m coming to take your throne

It`s aggressive rock, borderline metal and dangerously catchy! The Black Metal references are there, but first and foremost they`re a modern rock band.
This might be my favourite of Heilung. They've improved a bit on their later releases but their debut is still much meaner, and darker. Maria's amazing voice obviously steals the show but I also quite like Kai's too, especially on the live performance. In fact I'd say get LIFA over this IMO.
The spoken word bits are really cool to hear proto-germanic in use but for relistening purposes they are going to be a bit obtrusive. Nevertheless the proper music here is on continual repeat for me. Rabbit
If there ever was a timely album to sum up the United States in 2020, this is it. Elements of black metal, hymnals, call-and-response, sampled news audio, and Manuel's amazing voice come together to form a beautifully tortured sound.
The term 'avant-garde' is rightfully earned with every moment of this EP. mistermunn
It's hard to pick a favourite track. This is the only album i have so far deemed as "perfect", where every track, even the intro, is just a masterpiece in its own right. From the hard hitting Perturbator's Theme to the emotional title track, its 68 minutes of perfection. 10/10. connivingkhajiit
